Unconventianally strung 12 strings

Carefull, not all 12 strings are strung the same.

The Rickenbacker 12 string (popularized by george harrison) is one of a smaller set of guitars where the larger bass string has swapped positions with the smaller string, so instead of eEaAdDgGBBEE it is EeAaDdGgBBEE. This is not common but is in no way wrong, in fact some players prefer this stringing, but it's all a matter of personal taste. Just be sure to be aware of which way yours is supposed to be strung and enjoy.

There is no huge difference in how to play, just keep this in mind as you tune. I heard a story about someone who broke allot of strings trying to have the lower octave string higher than the smaller string- let's pray it's not true. (it's also really bad for the neck)
